I wonder if I can fix this without breaking other software. I am a little scared to follow the suggestions made there for fear of breaking other programs if I did.īTW, I found that /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libstdc++.so.6 exists as a softlink to a file named libstdc++.so.6.0.19 in the same directory. Googling the error message I came across this discussion which goes frankly a bit confusing: So I ran that in the terminal (no idea what that %U is for, btw) and got this response:Ĭode: Select all bluegriffon: /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libstdc++.so.6: version `GLIBCXX_3.4.21' not found (required by bluegriffon) So I looked up the properties of the BlueGriffon Menu item and found "bluegriffon %U" as the command it issues. Well, I installed it per double-click and tried to run it.

Sadly, the file for download declared itself as Ubuntu 16.04 compatible which might leave me behind, being still stuck on Qiana (because of so many system configurations, customizations, software and dependent library installations (among these Wine, PlayOnLinux, many DOS and Windoze programs, and Virtualbox) that I have done and don't have time to re-do from scratch any time soon). Software Manager came up empty, so I went to and downloaded their deb file for Ubuntu (I prefer deb over tar balls since I have been led to believe that deb files integrate with the Software Manager thus making updates and installs management easier). I searched the web for a promising WYSIWYG html editor to run natively on Linux and came across BlueGriffon as a pretty good sounding suggestion.
